We are grateful for her time for the interview.
So how did you get the name “Lady Fly”?
It goes back to my school days and initially it was my nickname when I began to write poetry.
What’s the scene like where you are from?
Metal is not popular as a culture of society in Ukraine. But there are quite a lot of talented bands in metal and rock music here.
Can you talk about your influences in and outside of music?
I was greatly influenced by such talented bands as Children of Bodom, Drowning Pool, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Cradle Of Filth, Slipknot, Morbid Angel and many others.
Outside of music, different philosophical themes about life and society have always strongly influenced me.
You’ve been in bands before. Are you now focused on being a solo-artist?
Maybe it looks like I’m positioning myself as a solo- artist. But in fact it is only a necessary measure to find like-minded musicians. And I would really like to be in band again.
How are you handling this coronavirus situation and what are you doing to keep busy?
In fact, my life has not changed too much and I always have a lot of things that I have to do. I have a to-do list for every day. I always keep in touch with my friends on social networks and try to support everyone who text me. I also love educational videos and books. In addition, I am preparing new content for the news.
If you could replace any female vocalist past or present, who would it be and why?
This is one of the most difficult questions I have received. Since my idols were always male singers. But if I try to answer this question, I think I would like to replace Marloes Voskuil from Dutch thrash/death metal band Izegrim. I found out about them not so long ago. And I really love her vocals.
You just signed a new management deal. Tell us about that and how you hooked up with them.
This is a truly amazing situation. I am sure that nothing happens by chance. Since I spend a lot of time on social networks and the chance brought us together and we found each other. The fact is that I always speak with many people and I am happy that among them I found Shawn from MGI.
What’s your advice for vocalists trying to perform in the style you do? Are there any special techniques you use?
I can say that it is very important to work in a band if you want to develop vocals in this style. The best workouts are rehearsals that will give a great incentive. The key to success is in long-term practice as in any work, so nothing so special.
What is your plan for the coming months?
In the coming months I will have some videos that I want to present. And I will still have different interviews. I am also preparing to meet my new next band. I don’t know who it will be but I do a lot of preparations for this every day.
Thank you for your time and attention to me. It was a pleasure to answer your questions.
